Organization description:
Vera’s mission is to make justice systems fairer and more effective through research and innovation. Working with leaders of government and civil society, we plan, implement and evaluate improvements in systems that deliver justice, such as courts, law enforcement, immigration and social services. We also conduct demonstration projects as direct-service solutions to significant gaps in how justice is delivered. We also spin off successful demonstration projects into independent organizations. Vera’s 18 spinoffs, which include the nationally recognized nonprofit Safe Horizon, provide combined annual services worth nearly $200 million. Vera has about 180 employees around the country, with offices in New York City, Washington, D.C., New Orleans and Los Angeles. Please note: we are not taking on new programs at this time.
