  • Other: BAC offers fiscal sponsorship to individuals and organizations for cultural projects with strong artistic merit that align with our mission. Projects that BAC supports through fiscal sponsorship generally fit into one of the following categories: 1) Artistic projects in any discipline that are undertaken by Brooklyn-based individual artists or collectives; projects can take place in Brooklyn or elsewhere. 2) Artistic projects in any discipline that are undertaken by individual artists or collectives who are not Brooklyn-based, but take place in Brooklyn or benefit Brooklyn residents. 3) Activities of Brooklyn-based cultural organizations that are in the process of incorporating as nonprofits. 4) Specific cultural projects undertaken by for-profit organizations, that are nonprofit in nature and demonstrate strong benefit to Brooklyn residents

Services we offer projects:

  • Other: Accepting tax-deductible contributions from foundations, corporations, government agencies and individuals; sending tax acknowledgment letters; assistance tracking grant reporting obligations and deadlines; accepting credit card contributions from donors through our website (includes additional processing fees); consultation on project management and development, including fundraising guidance through reviews of fundraising plans and proposals; on a case-by-case basis, providing additional promotional assistance through our digital communications; connecting leaders of fiscally sponsored projects to the many other programs and services we offer.

Brooklyn Arts Council is Brooklyn’s leading nonprofit organization supporting artists and cultural groups in all disciplines. We are dedicated to fostering a healthy environment for the arts across Brooklyn and supporting the careers of its artists. The Council is committed to: 1) providing platforms for Brooklyn artists to share their work with a broad public and earn income from their creative endeavors; 2) creating arts access for Brooklyn residents, and 3) promoting and partnering with Brooklyn's broad range of cultural organizations. We reach hundreds of thousands of artists and audience members each year through: grants, training programs and artists services; music, dance, film and visual arts programs; web-based directories and communities; arts education, and urban folk arts initiatives.
